Because Milagro's primary industry happens to be agriculture, things become complicated after several financially powerful individuals and companies manipulate water rights in an effort to drive down the price of land so that the land may be bought for little to nothing. Filming for the Milagro location of the film occurred within the mountainous Truchas of northern New Mexico. The story of The Milagro Beanfield War takes place in and around the small Mexican town of Milagro. ![]() Notable actors within the film include Daniel Stern as sociology student Herbie Platt and Christopher Walken as Kyril Montana, a federal agent. Robert Redford handled direction for the film while author John Nichols, as well as David Ward, penned its screenplay. The Milagro Beanfield war is the 1988 film adaptation of the titular first novel written by John Nichols itself the first of a trilogy. ![]()

Here is the deal most Murder Mysteries follow a formula. The Hijinks that ensue from the murder in her little town. We are introduced to the lovely Filipino Lila Macapagal, and she does her daughterly duty, helping run the family business until a murder occurs. I am always here for a hilarious murder mystery, and Arsenic and Adobo did not disappoint. I used to be a massive fan of the Janet Evanovich Stephanie Plum series, and for a time, I was into the Adele Abbott Witch Mystery series with Jill Gooder. Seriously, it’s been a while since I read a comedic murder mystery. You don’t have to wait until AAPI to celebrate or read books by AAPI authors they need to be in your rotation. Hopefully, next month or June, you can read a post about AAPI authors I enjoy. The stories range from elegant and soul searching to comedic and tongue in cheek.
