![]() ![]() Now I'm going to break down why this volume isn't a great start for a new series. I feel a lot of the reviews on this series are bias because they either are a fan of Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul or just wants to join on the hype just like they did with Yusei Matsui's The Elusive Samurai series when people used to pretend to like that series on Goodreads a lot more. I'm disappointed with volume 1 of Chojin X and the thing is I was actually expecting the story to be this bad but I still pushed on reading the story whenever Shonen Jump's app would update the chapters. and read in 2021 in May.Įdited for grammar and update on the story. And I'm going to enjoy every second of it. This is going to be such a wild, weird story, for sure. The art, as always, is super impressive and beautiful. Still, it was a pretty okay start! That doesn't mean it was bad. And I feel we're going to see that in this manga. I love characters who are kinda weak and don't know how to control their powers at the beginning who become these amazing, hardcore powerful monsters. It's harder to root for a character you barely know so I'm excited to know more about Choujin X's Tokio. Especially the emotions he was going through while this big change in his life was happening. ![]() Tokyo Ghoul had Kaneki Ken, a character we could easily relate to. So, when I was told he was releasing a new story with monsters and action-packed scenes, I was game. ![]() Tokyo Ghoul is my comfort read and it's still one of my all-time favorite even years after being over. ![]()
